This blog is not an update ( though one is to come this weekend) but actually is me openly sharing how the Lord spoke to my heart this evening by using the beautiful backdrop of his magnificent artwork -the andes...and this beautiful country.
After a long day of teaching meetings....I found time to finally steal away and really spend some quality time with my savior, and I must say...as I worshipped along to Shane and Shane with the beautiful orange and red sunset lighting up the mountain tops...The lord encouraged my heart. I don't know why the Lord has chosen to use me here, but i must admit, it wasn't until today that that reality ...hit me today.
The reality that... I'm forgiven because of the cross, Im unworthy but His blood has made me useable for His glory...and that its...His grace that is sufficient. Oh how my soul was lifted and my anxieties lessened instantly. For some reason, it hit me today how much God has given me throughout my entire life, a family who loves me, loves Jesus and is never wanting for food or material possessions that many here have never dreamt of having, the priviledge to graduate from highschool and travel the states as part of an amazing University ministry team ( the very thing I had always desired to do), and the list goes on and on, I just felt plain convicted at my lack of continual gratefulness to the lord for all of those blessings. I read this in Morning and Evening by Charles Spurgeon tonight and wanted to share it with you friends...

"We must not cease to wonder at the great marvels of our God. It would be very dificult to draw a line between holy wonder and real worship; for when the soul is overwhelmed with the majesty of God's glory, though it may not express itself in song,or even utter its voice with bowed head in humble prayer, yet it silently adores. Our incarnate God is to be worshipped as "the Wonderful". That God should consider His fallen creatures, human beings, and instead of sweeping them away with the broom of destruction, should Himself undertake to be the Redeemer of humanity, and to pay the ransomprice, is, indeed marvelous! But to each believer redemption is most marvelous as he views it in relation to himself. It is a miricle of grace indeed, that Jesus should forsake the thrones and royalties above, to suffer ignominiously below for you. Let your soul lose itself in wonder, for wonder is in this way a very practical emotion. Holy wonder will lead you to grateful worship and heartfelt thanksgiving. It will cause within you godly watchfulness;you will be afraid to sin against such a love as this. Feeling the presence of the mighty God in the gift of His dear Son, you will put off your shoes from off your feet, because the place whereon you stand is holy ground. You will be moved at the same time to glorious hope. If Jesus has done such marvelous things on your behalf, you will feel that heaven itself isn't too great for your expectation. Who can be at the manger and the cross? What is left that is wonderful after one has seen the Savior? Dear reader, it may be that from the quietness and seclusion of your life, you are told what they had seen and heard, but you can, at least, fill up the circle of the worshippers before the throne, by wondering at what God has done."

  2. Candace I loved the quote by Charles Spurgeon & was inspired & humbled by your thoughts. I too constantly wonder where my continual gratefulness is. I struggle to thank God all day even though I am soooo blessed. I am glad you are getting to see the world and how others live and be inspired each day to be thankful. What a blessing!
